Since 1986, the American Cusanus Society, in cooperation with the International Seminar on Pre-Reformation Theology of the Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary, has hosted a biennial conference on Nicholas of Cusa and his milieu.

UPCOMING CONFERENCE:

Lutherans and Catholics, Then and Now:

500 Years (and More) of Religious Reform

Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2016

Gettysburg, PA

Committee:    Tom Izbicki and Chris Bellitto, co-chairs

Phil Krey, Rick Serina, Meredith Ziebart

Description: On the eve of the 500th anniversary of Luther’s 95 Theses and having just celebrated 50 years since Vatican II’s seismic shift in ecumenical dialogue, the American Cusanus Society will take an historical and ecumenical look at the state of Lutheran-Catholic relations, then and now. We will first explore the history and state of the Roman Catholic-Lutheran dialogue before stepping back to the late medieval world of intellect and spirituality that gave birth to Nicholas of Cusa and Martin Luther.

Thanks to generous gifts for this special occasion, registration fees will be waived for all persons who belong to the Society.
